Cuddle Sessions
Cuddling might seem like such a simple thing, but it’s a powerful way to feel better when you're stressed, anxious, or just feeling a little lonely. Whether it's holding hands, getting a long bear hug, lying on top of you, playing with your hair, scratching your back, squeezing the back of your neck, feather-light touch, or just snuggling up next to you in a non-sexual way, it helps you feel at ease and more connected.
Cuddle sessions, bear hugs, touch, and lying on you trigger the release of oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine while also lowering cortisol. I use skin-on-skin contact without a shirt because it increases the release of these feel-good neurotransmitters and hormones. Deep pressure from a hug or Deep sustained pressure from my body weight helps ease muscle tension and also activates your parasympathetic nervous system and stimulates proprioception, which together helps slow your heart rate and lower blood pressure, makes you more aware of your body’s position in space, and brings you into a state of total relaxation, helping you feel safe and grounded. It’s like your body just knows that it’s okay to let go.
Ambiance is important as well! I'll bring essential oils, an aurora light, calming music, and a heated blanket to put you even more at ease. Cuddle sessions help you feel more relaxed, supported, and cared for, which is why I believe it's important to offer. Our time together is about you. We can talk or just lay there and get lost in the music and each other's arms.
